10 December is celebrated as Human Rights Day. The Day marks the anniversary of the UN Assembly’s adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. This year’s Human Rights Day’s theme centres around ‘Equality’ and Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights – “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.”
