International Day of Peace
Each year on 21 September the International Day of Peace is observed around the world. This day was established in 1981 and adopted by the UN General Assembly. In 2001 the General Assembly unanimously voted for the day to be designated as a period of non-violence and ceasefire. As the world is busy recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic, this year’s theme is: “Recovering better for an equitable and sustainable world”.
