Govt, Unions Agree to Map Work Plan on Salary Review
Public sector unions and government have reached an agreement to map out a work plan of activities to lead to the implementation of the salary review report but the unions are not sure if this was good news for civil servants.
The four public sector unions met at the round table with the Government Negotiations Team (GNT) over the contentions salary review issues and during the meeting, the two parties agreed to develop a plan which would map out activities which would lead to the implementation of the report.

Where is the E8m Solar Project for Govt Offices?
In 2011, the Republic of China on Taiwan donated about E8 million (US$500 000) to government, to install solar panels in all its offices in a bid to cut its electricity expenditure, but still almost all government offices are using electric power supplied by the Swaziland Electricity Company (SEC).
Arguably, it is not clear whether the money was utilised for the intended project. When the money was donated, it was said the project would be piloted at the Ministry of Home Affairs but still it is using electric power just like the other government offices. Government spends millions of Emalangeni in paying the electricity bill, something it could have long time avoided.
